Icon meme (because I'm still sick and have nothing better to do)

1. Reply to this post, and I will pick four of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. And so it goes.

Stolen from two people...

From joonscribble:

This is from the awesome, wonderful, totally campy and somewhat cracktastic French musical, Roméo et Juliette. It's a sort of rock opera with really eccentric costumes and make-up and a tendency to have characters explain themselves in a very long, repetative songs. It also has a character who is the personification of Death. I loves it. It is the reason I learned to speak French (or, learned to speak it better), because I wanted to know what they were saying. I bought the DVD of the musical (most French musicals have DVDs, handily enough) and hacked, uh, adjusted my DVD player to play the foreign code. Consequently, my DVD drops about 2 of every 5 frames and the people look somewhat jerky. The text reads roughly 'I defy the universe'. Or really, more accurately, 'fuck off, universe'. It's from the balcony scene.

I'm not sure what episode this is from. It's Mal, from Firefly, walking down the Mess Hall. I liked the cap, because I like iconning different images. A lot of people tend to use the same images over and over again in icons. I also like trying to capture action in a still image. I think it captures Mal very well - in motion, somewhat worried and on his ship.

More Mal, because he's my boyfriend, when I started posting Firefly fic, I only had one icon and I had to reply to every comment with it, so I uploaded more. This is from the episode 'Serenity', I believe. Again, it captures Mal - bad day, near death experiences, but his ship is still flying and that's all he needs.

Uploaded when I started posting Who fic. This is from the episode 'Boomtown'. Season one remains my favourite season so far and I really love Rose when she's not moping or pining, but just enjoying the ride.

From _medley_:

From The Boone Identity, I believe. The personification of Harry Dresden and used for those 'dammit!' moments and comments. This is from my first batch of Dresden icons and I love the colouring and have no idea how I did it, nor have I been able to replicate it since.

Again, uploading for my Firefly fics. The whole crew, minus River and Simon, I think, from Bushwhacked. I know it's not a very clear icon, but I wanted to have the whole group in there. Everyone looks like themselves, Jayne looks bored, Mal looks calm and Wash has his hands in the air, asking them not to shoot. :-)

From "Collateral Damage", which was in Season 9. I started watching Stargate because they showed reruns after the Buffy reruns on Space. The first episode I saw was "Point of View" and I was hooked. I rented the movie and the first season to catch myself up and convinced my mum to watch the movie with me because Kurt Russell was in it. She loved it, loved the first season and we've since watched every episode together, mostly on DVD. I was sad to see RDA go in Season 9, but I LOVE Ben Browder and Cam Mitchell. I really loved "Collateral Damage" for the plot and the wonderful acting from Ben Browder. Plus it is highly iconable because he has very nice facial expressions and I like playing with the colour of his eyes. Uploaded to reply to Stargate related posts and sometimes used randomly because I don't use it enough.

Done for my Dresden Files Batch at icon_roulette. The theme for that particular icon was 'textless'. I blame joyfulfeather for originally getting me into the Harry/Murphy 'ship. I loved this scene even before then, though, because it shows how wonderfully Harry and Murphy get along, even outside of work.
