Bringing this back again, because it was fun and memes make the world a better place.

Character Questions Meme
1. Go here to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 100. DO THIS FIRST.

2. Choose a character that I write or have written, be it a canon person (Sherlock), an OC (Dr. Forrester) or whatever. Feel free to pick a character that was used last time, as the questions will most likely be different this time around.

3. Comment with the character and the numbers, and then I will answer the corresponding questions from here.
(ETA: link fixed, thanks joonscribble!)

If you choose Mal or Fay or Graylin (or anyone of a minor age), any questions inappropriate to ask a child will be answered as though they were adults. You can choose a few characters if you so choose.

DI G Lestrade

As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?

One of my baby school report cards said 'Greg would do better to mind his own business and leave the policing of the class to the teacher'. So nosy and a morally righteous, I guess?

Are you generally organized or messy?

Judging by the state of my desk - messy. I know where everything is. I just can't find it at the moment.

Do you have a spouse or significant other? If so, describe this person.

No. I used to be married, way, way back. It didn't last long. I date now, but there hasn't been anyone serious in awhile. After the third time you ditch them for a homicide, most women get fed up. I also have a prat of a consulting detective stalking me around London, which women seem to find unsettling.

What is your favorite food?

Coffee.

Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.

I live in the house I grew up in which I inherited from my mother when she moved into the nursing home. It's old and worn and comfy. It's in a pretty nice neighbourhood, which was dodgier when I was a kid. On one side I have the same neighbour that was there even before I was born, who must be close to hundred by now and insists on calling me 'Geoffrey' despite how long he's known me. I live alone, except for a fish that one of my sisters gave me for a birthday. My nephew dubbed him 'Hal', but I just call him 'fish'.

Who is the person you respect the most, and why?

Supt. Michael Sikes. He was an inspector when I was a constable and made sure I knew what I was doing. He's the one who put me on track to be a detective.

What does your voice sound like?

One of my exes said I sound like a sarcastic phone sex operator. I think it was a compliment?

If you could change one thing from your past, what would it be, and why?

Probably getting married too young. It wasn't good for either of us.

What three words would others probably use to describe you?

"Half-witted, obtuse troglydyte", according to Sherlock Holmes.

Are you right- or left-handed?

Right. Except when I golf.

I try to never golf I can help it.

WIN. Omg, so much win. Now I want a fic that's just purely a selection of Lestrade, John, and Sherlock's baby school reports.

What does a sarcastic phone sex operator even sound like? And would it sound like Rupert Graves? Why yes, yes, I think it would!

OMG, that would rock!

"Sherlock is a very gifted student, but his habit of correcting the teacher is very disruptive to the other children. Even if he is usually right."

What does a sarcastic phone sex operator even sound like? And would it sound like Rupert Graves? Why yes, yes, I think it would!

Oh good, I sometimes worry things only work in my brain.

I'm guessing a sarcastic phone sex operator would be someone with a husky, sexy voice saying sarcastic things or someone with a sarcastic voice saying sexy things. I think Lestrade/Graves would be the former.

Lt. Connie Murphy

What is/are your favorite hobbies and pastimes?

Playing mindless computer games when I get home from work. Being girly with Anna. Being tomboyish with Anna. Listening to or going to the opera.

What are your reasons for being a cop? (NOTE: question says 'adventurer', but Murphy really isn't one on purpose, so I've changed it to her profession.)

If I'm honest, I probably thought it would bring my dad and I closer together, though I always liked the idea of what he did - bringing in bad guys and helping people who couldn't help themselves. The more people who told me I couldn't do it (I was a girl, I was too short, I wasn't strong enough) made me want to do it more.

What is your greatest regret?

I don't believe much in regrets. I think things, generally, happen for a reason and if they didn't happen, your life might change in a bad way. I suppose the greatest regret is marrying Rick, but if I hadn't I would have Anna and I can't picture a life without her in it.

Have you started your own family? If so, describe them. If not, do you want to? Why or why not?

I have Anna, who is ten years old and too much like me. She's got Rick's eyes, but my everything else. I fear for the teenage years, knowing what mine were like. If the right guy came along, I might consider having another child, but I think I'm pretty blessed with the one I have.

Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?

I'm hardly a social butterfly, but I know I tend to take command on dates. It's a bad habit from ordering people around all day. I'm pretty good at talking to anyone about anything, which means I tend to do a lot of talking.

How close are you to your family?

Anna and I are very close, though I don't see her as often as I would like. My dad and I do not get along, but we're inching our way toward a semi-normal relationship. My mom left when I was little and I haven't seen her since.

Did you enjoy school?

School was all right. I wasn't a bad student and I didn't get into too much trouble. I was always more friendly with the boys than the girls, which made me pretty lonely during the 'cootie' stage of life. I always had the feeling there was something better to be doing with my time, but I think that's pretty typical for any kid.

Are you spontaneous, or do you always need to have a plan?

I can do both. Being a cop, you sometimes need to be spontaeneous and you sometimes need to plan. I like to know what's coming up, but I don't mind winging it from there. Hanging out with Harry makes you ready for anything. Magic doesn't operate on a schedule, apparently.

What do you believe makes a successful life?

Doing good and leaving the world a better place for your children.
